IC94 Inspiration Challenge

This is my card for the Inspiration Challenge:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=287948The center oval was shadowed using the masking technique. The butterfly was stamped with gold pigment ink, colored in, and cut out. It is popped up.I used the flourish stamp from Delight in Life for the corner adornment.

Inspiration Challenge

To be quite honest, I did not care for the inspiration piece at all and I didn't care for the color scheme either. That's what made this a real challenge for me! So, I decided to use the colors from the piece, Taken with Teal, Wasabi, and Black.

The diamond background stamp is from Beeswax.com; it was stamped with Versamark on the Taken with Teal cardstock. I used Marvy punches for the oval and scalloped oval. The stamp set is SU!'s (retired) Delight in Life, stamped with black Stazon ink. I used SU"s white gel pen for the faux stitching around the oval and in the center of the flower. The ribbon came from Michael's $1.00 bin!

Yesterday's Challenge Card

I like the Inspiration Challenges because there pretty much aren't any rules. Just be inspired by the posted image and let your imagination run free!

I made this card using Stampin' Up! Baroque Motifs set and the floral stamp that I picked up along the way. I don't remember it's name or who made it. I also used brads as the accessory, and my SU! ticket corner punch on the layered cardstock. I didn't like the starkness of the white card, so I distressed it with brown Stazon ink.

Splitcoaststampers Get Together 7/28/07

Several of us from Splitcoaststampers.com got together in Melbourne, FL for an afternoon of card making. The picture is all the cards I made today. I was amazed at all the beautiful (yet soooo simple) cards everyone created.

I learned a few things today!

1. You don't need an ink cartridge to use your wheel! You can ink it up on a regular ink pad.

2. You can use a Versamark stamp for tone-on-tone color and you don't have to emboss the image!

3. When laying four squares together, lay the bottom corner first then lay the diagonal top corner. Match them up corner to corner. Then lay in the other pieces.

4. You can use your rounded corner punch in lieu of the word window punch.

All in all, it was a great day, and I can't wait to do it again!

Just an update

Ron & I were married a week ago today. The wedding was on the beach, so it was very casual as you can see from the picture. As soon as I get all the pictures back and uploaded to my webhost, I'll post a link.

I started my new job last Tuesday. I'm going to enjoy it alot! The job is for the Orion space program which will be replacing the current shuttle program, so it's an exciting project to be a part of!

Finally! A Job Offer!

I went to Orlando last week to interview for the position of a Job Site Secretary. It's for a commercial construction company, and the project is located at the space center. I spoke to the Project Manager yesterday and he told me they want to make a formal job offer!

I'll have the letter tomorrow! Woohoooo! I am so excited! I've been sending out my resume like crazy and have gone on a few interviews since I was laid off nearly two months ago. This is the first real job offer I've gotten and I am most likely going to accept it.
